Suncatcher Greenhouses is a company formed by Steve Eyring, a backyard gardener and Jim Baggley, an Inventor and owner of Grace Frame, the worlds number one quilting frame company ( www.graceframe.com ) and Knucklestrutz, an educational construction toy company( www.knucklestrutz.com ).
Their partnership began on the sidelines of their son’s Jr Jazz basketball game. In between watching free throws and lay ups, Jim and Steve became fast friends just like their sons Sam and Spencer. One winter day, Steve the backyard gardener and his son Spencer were constructing a geodesic globe out of Jim the inventor’s Knucklestruts construction toy. Steve noticed how the toy parts snapped and pulled apart easily but also held securely, the germination of the SunCatcher had begun.
The Suncatcher is an invention of necessity. Living in the Rocky Mountains the gardening season is short, Steve had been trying different ways to extend his gardening season. He worked with a simple and inexpensive hoop garden design, but it was difficult to open and close securely. Simple tasks of venting, weeding and watering were difficult and time consuming.
Once the problem was planted with Jim the solution sprouted in just a few short weeks and over the last two years has grown into today’s SunCatcher Green House. With the basic design and concept finished SunCatcher Greenhouses looks forward to the harvest of new gardening successes by growing a relationship with other backyard gardeners like you.
